What is Craniosacral Therapy?

Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle yet profound, hands-on healing modality that treats the whole system holistically.  It offers the mind and body the opportunity to release deeply held patterns of tension, pain and restriction on any level – physical, emotional and mental. The integration of energy healing greatly enhances the effects of the treatment, reconnecting you to self, restoring balance at a deep level throughout your system.  This is Inner Wisdom Healing.

What happens in a treatment session?

After an initial questionnaire to assess your requirements and background health, you will be asked to lie down, fully clothed – or occasionally sit – on a treatment couch. Using a gentle, sustained touch on the body and/or cranium, I engage with the natural motion of fluids surrounding your brain and spine. These fluids influence the whole body and so by connecting in with these subtle rhythmic movements, I am able to ‘listen’ and observe subtle expressions of health, restriction or disturbance anywhere in your system which informs me throughout the treatment where to focus and place my hands and what contacts to take up on your body. Fascial unwinding is a technique which may be used to release blockages anywhere in the system. At times during a session, we may talk briefly about what is happening but it may not involve any talking until the end.

Appointments

My clinic is based in Pen Selwood, a village 4 miles from Wincanton, Somerset.  To arrange a treatment, click Make An Appointment below which will take you through to a calendar where you can select a convenient date and time.  Once booked, details of your appointment including the full address and directions will be confirmed by email.

Bookings can be cancelled or changed 24 hours or more before your appointment time.

  • Temporary Clinic Hours & Complimentary Distant Healing Sessions

    During the month of January 2025, clinic hours are temporarily limited to late afternoons and early evenings whilst some building work is taking place. I apologise for any inconvenience, please contact me directly if you are having trouble finding a suitable time. Normal hours resume at the start of February, if not before. I will post an update nearer the time.

    In the meantime, if you would like to experience a distant healing ‘taster session’, whether you are a new or existing client, I am offering a free 15 minute treatment on Zoom for the month of January, weekday daytimes. Appointments will be limited so to book a space, please send me a request for distant healing via the Contact form and I will be in touch to explain more and confirm your appointment date and time.
